Stage 4 - Living Systems Incursion

Program Overview
This incursion is a “sample” of the excursion “Living Systems” that runs on site at Penrith Lakes. It is designed for Stage 4 students but may be used across other stages. Students perform a first-hand investigation of a freshwater ecosystem using scientific equipment. Students further develop their knowledge and understanding, and group work skills.
Students Identify the components that make up an ecosystem
- Investigating the interactions of biotic and abiotic factors in an ecosystem
Identifying how matter and energy are cycled through an ecosystem using food chains and food webs.
